Newbie Help Guide 

Welcome to Lost in Time! Lost in Time is a Harry Potter RP site set in 1884, during the Victorian Era. Are you new to roleplay? Or maybe you just need a refresher after a long absence from roleplaying? See our Help Guide for all the information you need to know. The aim of our Admins and Mods is to create a mature, drama-free, and friendly environment for all members! We hope you enjoy your stay here and that it'll be a long one. Should you encounter any problems joining or even after you've joined, please contact a staff member. We are more than happy to help you with your problems and we aren't opposed to being a friend if you need someone to chat with!

1} All the Information
Before you register, you'll want to read all the information on site to get a good idea of what sort of plot is going on and how your character will be incorporated into that plot. We're incorporating new aspects into the HP Universe that you'll want to understand before jumping in. Important links are listed below:

2} Registering
After you've read all the information and decided on a character you'd like to make, you can go ahead and register with your character's name. Only first and last names are required; middle names are optional. We ask that you capitalize the first letters of both the first and last name. If you'd like to create a character, but don't have inspiration for an original, feel free to check out our Canon List, Want Ads, Adoptable Characters, and Needed Characters.

3} Application
Next you'll want to head over to the Applications board. All applications are created with the appropriate template. They should be posted in the WIPs board. When you are finished, you may reply to the thread saying so and your application will be reviewed. *Remember, applications need to be completed within a week of being posted or they'll be placed in the Unfinished Applications sub-board, unless notification is made to the staff that the application is being worked on.

4} Claims
Once your application has been accepted and your character has been sorted by an Admin, you may post your claims in the appropriate topics. You will find the Face Claim within the Claims board, as well as Who's Who. Please post in both. If you do not claim your face, it can be taken by someone else.

5} Plot Page
While it is not mandatory to have a plot page, it is usually helpful for members, new and old, to generate plots with one another. It is recommended that this be your next step on the site. If you do not wish to create a plot page, we encourage you to peruse the pages already listed and reply to them with any and all plots ideas you might have for your character and the one you are posting to. The plots board can be found here and we ask that you use the template provided when creating a page.
