F.A.Q.
The FAQ questions below are taken from the Cbox, PMs, and the Help Section. Some are just general questions we believe may come up and have already answered for you. It will be updated periodically with new questions and concerns.Q. How does time work in the rp setting? Does it go along with real time or skip around?
A. It is not real time. For example, the current date is July 2nd, 2015, however in the rp it is still June/July, 1884, depending on the plots. We have purposely left out a specific date, listing only the month and year.
Q. Are there any specific character restrictions I should know about?
A. We don't have restrictions, as we don't believe in them, because they tend to limit character development. Should it become necessary, we will place a cap on certain non-human characters. We'll also be posting a listing of characters we do and don't need, to help even out the ratios on the site, however if you create a character we don't need, it will still be accepted if the application is approved.
Q. Is there a character limit?
A. No. You are free to create as many characters as you wish, as long as you keep them all active. We'd prefer that you have rped one character for a week before creating another one, or at least wait until your first application is approved before posting up another.
Q. I wanted to adopt a canon, wanted character, or previously played character, but the name is already taken and I can't register. Help? What do I do?
A. Register with a default name and then fill out the character name in your application. Don't fret. An Admin will fix it for you.
Q. I really, really want -insert face claim- but he/she is already taken. Can I still have -insert face claim- if the other member agrees to share?
A. While we'd prefer duplicate face claims not be on the site, if the member that already has the face claim agrees to share it and you are able the face claim has sufficient pictures with a different hair color/style and/or is the younger or older version of the face claim, we will accept it. Example: Someone is using a child Drew Barrymore as a face claim. You may use the older version of that face claim.
Q. I have this really cool idea for a transfer character, only I know that Hogwarts doesn't normally accept them. But I was wondering if you could make an exception?
A. Canonically transfers to Hogwarts are not allowed, and unfortunately we are going to stick by that and not allow transfers. I'm sure your cool idea can be incorporated into a character born in the UK or Ireland.
Q. Can my non-human character attend Hogwarts?
A. No. We classify non-human characters as merpeople, centaurs, werewolves, vampires, etc. While vampire or werewolf characters may have previously been attending the school, they will be asked to leave the school by the Headmaster (though it is truly more of a permanent suspension) after the change has occurred. The reason for this is there is no way to ensure that they will not harm their peers or effectively sneak them off the grounds (werewolves) without someone noticing.
