OVERALL PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Melanie is a tall, slim girl with long dark hair. She prefers to wear it down but her mother demands she pull it up. She wears a lot of neutral colors, rather than the floral print a lot of girls her age choose. Her face is usually set in a bored or agitated tone as she inherited her father's impatience.
NON-MAGICAL SKILLS: Melanie has learned throughout the years when to keep her mouth shut. She also knows how to manipulate, something her father taught her. She's fluent in French as well as English, her first language. She also knows four different ways to braid her hair.
MAGICAL SKILLS: Melanie is brilliant in potions and transfiguration. She hopes to one day master the animagus ability and escape her life for a while.

STRENGTHS: Melanie is very knowledgeable in social situations. She knows the right things to say and how to present herself. She's really good with animals and takes care of all the stray pets near her home. She also has high aspirations and will do anything she has to so she can achieve her goals.
QUIRKS & HABITS: Melanie is a lot like her father. She has to keep herself from rolling her eyes and letting people know just how stupid she thinks they are. She chews on her lip when she's concentrating on something and pinches the bridge of her nose when she's irritated.
OVERALL PERSONALITY DESCRIPTION: Melanie grew up as a lady and knows how to behave like one when necessary. She can hold herself with grace and elegance even when she has no interest in whatever mundane conversation she's put into. She's been to plenty social events that come with being a Rinaldi and can manipulate everyone into believing she's a proper lady. She's constantly exchanging looks with her father, however, who has the same low patience as she does.
Although she's better at holding in her feelings of irritation, she has a very low tolerance for people. She doesn't like small talk and generally only likes speaking to someone when she thinks they can help her in some way. She has mastered the use of fake interest and does so whenever she needs something she can't get herself.
Melanie hates that women get treated worse than men. She has high aspirations for when she leaves Hogwarts and doesn't want anything to stand in her way. Her biggest fear is to get stuck being a lowly housewife the rest of her life. As much as she loved having her mother around all the time, she couldn't handle that herself.

CHARACTER HISTORY: Melanie grew up in Rinaldi Manor with her older sister and brother. Her mother, Marissa, stayed home and raised the children while Adrian worked for the ministry. She was raised to behave like a proper lady and as much as she hated it, she took to her lessons with grace. She learned how to act as though she was the perfect little daughter. Her father, however, trained her and her sister to manipulate people just like he did. He didn't wanted his daughters to be strong in the only way they were really allowed.
When Melanie first attended Hogwarts, she felt a little nervous but got the hang out the social interaction in school. She found her passion in transfiguration and potions and spent extra effort on the assignments in each class. Divination was never her strong suit, although the subject interested her. She made a lot of acquaintances but kept only a few good friends. She had no interest in being the popular type that knew everybody. She preferred to keep to herself most of the time. She didn't spend a lot of effort on the other boys because she knew one day her father would marry her off to someone he felt was a good fit.
