Margaret Rose Alderton
NAME: Margaret Rose Alderton
AGE: 20
SOCIAL CLASS: Upper Class
STATUS: Married
OCCUPATION: Housewife
PLAY-BY: Jennifer Lawrence (only when she has blonde hair, as I’m aware Kath has her with dark hair )
BLOOD STATUS: Pureblood
EYES: almond shaped, and so light blue that they can pass as grey.
HAIR: Long, blonde and wavy.
SKINTONE: typical English Rose of peaches and cream.
HEIGHT & WEIGHT: 5’6 and 120lbs
DISTINGUISHING MARKS: the slightly protruding stomach that has arrived in her third month of pregnancy.
OVERALL PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Maggie is a rather tall woman, standing at five foot six inches. She has what she would describe as a ‘womanly’ figure, with a full bust and child baring hips, she is far from being a waif. She still has a fairly small waist, something which is emphasised with the Victorian use of a corset whenever she has to wear a particularly slimfitting dress. She has the trademark Malfoy blonde hair, that some days like to behave themselves as curls and other days wish to be messy waves down her back. Since falling pregnant Maggie has noticed changes in her body, an increase in the size of her bust, a puffiness in her face and feet in the morning, but mostly she has noticed the slight swell in her abdomen where her previously flat stomach had been.
NON-MAGICAL SKILLS: Maggie is an avid reader, which has led to her being intelligent and witty. Thanks to this she is able to express herself well, even in the company of men or people who are higher ranked than her in her family.
MAGICAL SKILLS: Maggie knows a rather large amount of magical theory, while she enjoys practicing magic since she finished Hogwarts these spells have mostly only been convenience spells or her practicing spells that she has studied and thinks look particularly interesting. Being from two pureblood lines her magic is fairly strong, but she doesn’t stretch herself as much as other witches might, content being a housewife and socialising.
WEAKNESSES: Despite her father’s attempts at making her musical like her mother, Maggie is unable to show any kind of musical talent. She can barely remember a tune on the piano, her attempts at the violin sounded as though a cat were being murdered, and her singing voice leaves a lot to be desired. She can be optimistic almost to a fault, particularly when it comes to her family, she fails to see the flaws within them, particularly on her mother’s side since she uses them as a means to feel close to her mother.
STRENGTHS: Maggie is a very bright girl, and as a result of her education she doesn’t feel that it is ok for her to be belittled by men. She is able to speak her mind in a polite and well thought out manner which leaves little room for the men in her life to talk down to her. She is fiercely loyal to those who she loves, and is willing to do almost anything for them.
QUIRKS & HABITS: Since she had fallen pregnant Maggie has taken to resting her hand on her stomach as though soothing the unborn babe she knows is in there.
OVERALL PERSONALITY DESCRIPTION: All in all Maggie is a very optimistic girl when she can be, she likes to see the silver lining to every cloud. She is well educated and because of this is more than capable of holding a debate with anyone she chooses if she believes that she is in the right, or has something to contribute. She is witty when she chooses to be and this can often be construed as cheeky. She is well behaved in public, of course, having been taught to behave as a pureblood lady she knows which fork to use for each course, and is fairly apt when it comes to ballroom dancing. However around her family she does not feel the need to keep up pretences, happy to tease them and play games.

CHARACTER HISTORY: Clemence Borgin and Lavender Malfoy ran in difference social circles when they were at Hogwarts, Clemence had been a Slytherin while Lavender was a Ravenclaw. That along with the four year age gap between them the two never met until their betrothal was arranged. At their first meeting, a Christmas Ball at the Malfoys home, Clemence was taken aback by the beauty of his soon to be wife. He had never noticed her before, though of course while he was at Hogwarts he was much too old to be looking at a girl four years younger than him. But seeing here there with her father dressed in a lilac dress, her blonde hair cascading down her back he claimed that it was love at first sight.
They embarked on a somewhat whirlwind romance, enjoying each other’s company, courting back and forth, they were married only four months after meeting that first time. Lavender had barely turned eighteen while Clemence was now twenty two and making a name for himself at the ministry. They had a little cottage together, and everything seemed to be going perfectly for the young couple. The only problem that Lavender saw within their life was that she was yet to bare his child. She wanted to give Clemence an heir. She wanted to raise their children in the cottage, gather around the fireplace each night to ask Daddy how his day had been and to tell fairy stories.
Eighteen months after they were married Lavender finally feel pregnant. She had never been so happy in her life, she could feel the life growing inside her. She and Clemence took great joy in telling their families that they were expecting a baby: that they were finally going to be parents. Clemence would spend evenings sitting in front of the fireplace talking to the bump that was protruding from his wife’s stomach. It was his baby. For those few months Clemence and Lavender were the happiest couple in all of England. The nursery was all set up, the little wooden cot, the Moses basket, Lavender had knit little booties hats and cardigans for the baby to be.
However this happiness was not meant to be. A few weeks before the baby was due Clemence came home to find Lavender on the floor, beside the fireplace, crying in pain. Her beautiful blonde hair was damp with sweat, her face was crumpled in pain, and her yellow dress was covered in blood from the waist down. Clemence panicked, he grabbed his wife and apparated to St. Mungos. He sat in the waiting room as memebers of their family arrived to wait with him. No one could get a word out of him. He just sat with his head in his hands. He should have been there. Then there was a crying from the room next door. The doctor came through with a little bundle wrapped in a pink blanket and a solemn look on his face. Lavender hadn’t made it, it was all they could do to save the baby.
Clemence was never the same. He couldn’t take the baby from the doctor, he couldn’t look at her. A girl. Margaret Rose. That was the name that Lavender had chosen for a girl. Charles Thomas for a boy, but for a girl she wanted a little Maggie with blonde curls and ribbons in her hair. Maggie grew up very close with her grandparents, her father had thrown himself into work, he did not have the time to look after an infant, or a child. Clemence was happy when Maggie was finally old enough to go to Hogwarts, her long blonde hair pulled back out of her face and tied back with a ribbon, he couldn’t help but wonder what Lavender would have thought if she could see the little girl now.
As she got older the Borgin in Maggie became more and more clear, she was the spitting image of her grandmother. She couldn’t help but be grateful for this, her father already struggled to look at her, if she looked like her mother she didn’t think that he would be able to at all. She worked hard while she was at Hogwarts, maintaining good grades, spending her holidays mostly with her grandparents, her grandmother was preparing her for her entrance into society, so that she could find a husband. Maggie had taken a liking to the younger Alderton boy, he was two years above her at Hogwarts and handsome. She watched him sometimes, just to see him be. When she was seventeen she heard that there had been a match made between them and she had been overjoyed.
The two got along well, they fell in love in a summer, taking walks in the Malfoy rose garden, visiting the sea in Brighton- all with a chaperone of course. They married when the leaves were red and orange and falling down from the trees. She and James were gifted the cottage that once upon a time her mother and father had wanted to raise a family in. They were happy. Maggie couldn’t help but wonder if they were too happy, too in love. Too much like her parents, for the twenty year old had fallen pregnant. No one but her husband knew. It was only a few months along, one could not yet see the swell in her belly. The swell that made her fear for her life. She love the little bump, but she feared that she too might leave a baby without a mother. With a father broken hearted and unable to love.
