To Mr. King

Eugenie sat in her bedroom, with the lamp burning midnight oil. It was the start of a new year with new possibilities. After the dinner the other night, Genie had decided that she would no longer live in fear anymore. She would either need to fall in love very quickly with a gentleman of good breeding, or she would need to be happy independently with her child coming in half a years' time. This meant cutting all ties with Draven King. The man was psychotic, to be sure. And ever since their meeting in Diagon Alley, she had been prepared for him to come hunting her. Rather than live with that threat hanging over her head, she decided to do something about it.
She sat with ink and quill in only her nightdress, her blond curls flowing down her back. She still had no belly to show for her pregnancy, but her womanly curves had grown immensely in the past few months. She sat writing by candlelight, knowing that he would probably not believe anything she had to say in this letter. Still, she had to try something to keep him away. She took a deep breath and began to write.
"Mr. King,
Do not fear that this will become a habit, I have no wish to contact you again after you receive this letter. I write to inform you that I lost the child which I was carrying. I do not wish for condolences, because I know you will have none to spare. I merely felt it was right to enlighten you on the change in my condition.
Regretfully,
E. Fawley"
After sealing the letter, she set it on her nightstand to be delivered in the morning. Who knew if her plan would even work, or if he even cared at all. But it was the only plan she had.
