DISTINGUISHING MARKS: Parthenope has burn scars over much of her body, her fingers are deformed and skeletal and her left foot is a wooden prosthetic.
OVERALL PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:
She's a beautiful girl, or was once, she's so surly now, quiet, full of hate and pain and burning anger. She walks tall, has a strong athletic build and piercing intelligent eyes but she's scarred, horrible thick burn scars and her hands and fingers were once broken and never properly healed so they appear thin, deformed and weak.
NON-MAGICAL SKILLS: She can read and write, though struggles with holding a pen, she's strong and has an excellent knowledge of metallurgy (for the 1800s). She can also sing beautifully, if rarely. She also enjoys strategizing and politics, though perusing such interest for a woman is a waste of time.
MAGICAL SKILLS: Parthenope's greatest skill is her imagination, and it takes her use of magic to new heights, she has a particular love of potions, transfiguration and charms, a fascination but no practice of the dark arts and an immense love of ancient runes and arithmancy.

Physical strength is something she possesses in spades, she's also smart and imaginative, creative and incredibly resilient. She has an immense survival instinct.
QUIRKS & HABITS: she drifts off when bored, even when taking to someone, she flinches away from fire. She tends to never sit or sleep with her back to a door and she often shuts her eyes for a moment when she walks outside.
Parthenope hides her hands, so compulsively wears bell sleeves or gloves.
OVERALL PERSONALITY DESCRIPTION:
She's damaged, and miserable, her scars run deep physically and mentally but she still won't give up. She's sharp, she likes thinking and is always thinking too much. She's very distant, but doesn't like being alone, despite pushing people away. She's complicated, to put it simply, her mind is full of contradictions and inconsistencies which overall fight to make her a disappointed person.
Parthenope possesses an immense motivation and drive for life. Despite all that's happened she aims high. She's inspired to work her way into a good and bright future no matter how daunting the task is. She can be selfish because of her ambitions, but she has not had a family in such a long time she's forgotten what it is to care for another person. She thinks her family died to give her an education and a future and she doesn't want to waste their sacrifice by conforming to society.

CHARACTER HISTORY:
Parthenope was born in a small coal mining town in Somerset. Her parents moved there after their marriage to escape the judgmental neighbors in their own town of birth. Parthenope's mother conceived Parthenope out of wedlock and was driven from her middle class family at age sixteen. Her father married her mother not long before Parthenope was born.
She did not work and he was the town blacksmith. A progressive couple who only had daughters meant Parthenope frequently helped her father in the forge. Her mother, with her upper middle class background made sure all her daughters could read and write. Knowing they would need tuition for Hogwarts for all three of their girls was a stress on the couple, and it just wasn't possible, they told Parthenope how they wished for her to be educated, desperately but they didn't have the means.
But three days before her eleventh birthday, the forge caught fire, the coal dust settled over everything in their house meant the blaze consumed the home quickly and could not be stopped.
The family were asleep when the fire began, and in the ensuing madness it ended with Parthenope and her father being the only ones left, but a falling beam in the forge caught them both, father around the middle and the lower half of Parthenope's left leg, her father used a nearby axe to cut off his daughter's leg, and a group of their neighbors pulled her from the rubble and the town doctor healed her, but her family were burned alive.
A present of pity for the girl from the ministry saw her tuition and supplies for the school paid in full (Minister's Sponsorship - 1876) and she was allowed to attend Hogwarts.
During the term this was fine, but in the summer she was made to live with her mother's parents, the upperclassmen despised the filthy bastard grovelling in their home and refused to feed her, so she stole food, when she was 13 she was caught and her grandfather broke all of her fingers in punishment. While they still treated her like an animal, after this they did give her some food.
Parthenope always tries her very best in her studies, believing it is what her family gave their lives for, and she despises anyone whom does not value their education, but still fears for the future, because soon Hogwarts will finish and she wants to be someone who'd make her parents proud but hasn't the means or money to get there.
