CHARACTER HISTORY: Helena was born in 1859 to Ronald, a wealthy British muggle business owner, and his American wife and witch MaryLouise. Soon after the family relocated to London. When Helena was 4 years old her father lost everything after a series of reckless business deals. In that same year MaryLouise fell ill with a simple cough that just wouldn't go away. Within a few months she was dead.
Helena was raised by her father, spending her childhood at his feet while he tried to build up another business. Though he never did see the same success he had previously Mr. Honeycutt was able to provide enough for himself and little Helena, managing to keep them from the lower class life he had lived as a child. Ronald had been aware of what his wife was and prepared Helena for the likelihood that she, too, may be a witch but Helena had little to no contact with other witches or wizards in her childhood. She did, however, discover from an early age that she could feel faint echoes of what others felt and was inflicted with "episodes" that gave her father quite a fright. These episodes turned Helena into a different person, in her father's eyes, wherein she would speak of things she couldn't possibly know but that would later prove themselves true. Ronald began to use his daughter's abilities to aid in his business.
Helena's life changed when she entered Hogwarts. There she was sorted into Hufflepuff and finally felt at peace and at home with her budding abilities. She spent her vacations helping her father with the shop and was sure to write him regularly with any discoveries she made in her divining that may help the business. Her father and the shop were always at the forefront of her mind. After leaving Hogwarts she returned home to continue helping her father but she longed for her magical home. Unable to bear it any longer she applied for the position of Divination Professor, something that has strained the relationship between her and her father.

Helena neatly folded the very last article of clothing in her possession and set it in the suitcase on her bed. She stood back and looked at the case and all its contents, rubbing her right ear between her thumb and forefinger. This was it. Was she really sure? She knew that she was but the guilt and worry had been eating her alive in the weeks she had decided she was going to leave her father behind and set off on her own. And he hadn't made it any easier with his constant questions about her decision and the reminders of how he would now be all alone to run the family business by himself. But she had to stay strong. She couldn't live in his shadow forever, after all. She needed to make her own way if she could. She needed to know that she could so that when he was gone... No, she couldn't think of that prospect now.
With a bit more conviction in her movements Helena closed the suitcase and fastened it shut. Sliding it off her bed she made her way to her bedroom door pausing for a moment to look back over what had been her room for so many years. She took a deep breath and opened the door.
