OVERALL PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Due to his Shacklebolt inheritage John is tall for his age, standing at 5'7". He has caramel coloured skin like his father and matching warm brown eyes rather than pale skin like his mother. To say that he has curls would be an understatement. His ringlets twist immediately back into place once they're let go after being pulled straight. Still they manage to look somewhat tamed instead of just a mob of hair, most of all when he puts them back with a hair band. John has long fingers and it seems his body still has to grow to fit the size of his hands.
NON-MAGICAL SKILLS: Jonathan has very calm hands which leads to him being very apt at crafting. But most of all he uses this skill to build buildings, mostly castles from matches or other strange material which challenges even his calm hands. In his youth he started to learn to play the pianoforte. He has no exceptional talent for it or music in general, which shows in that his steps are slightly off the rhythm while dancing, but he does well enough with the few pieces he learned by heart.
MAGICAL SKILLS: Having grown up around magic, John isn't really impressed with it anymore. Therefore he rather likes spells which have great effect, explosions most of all. At some point he started to practice spells of this sort in disused classrooms, ending up creating quite the firework in the small room. This is the only sort of magic which fascinates him, the visible sort, and which he takes trouble to practice.
BEST/WORST CLASSES: Jonathan is an average student. He has his good days in Charms but often enough ends up blowing something up. He likes Muggle studies and gives his best in Herbology to not disappoint his mother. It is the same with Care of Magical Creatures.
WEAKNESSES: Even though he has calm hands and likes to craft and build his castles for hours on end, at other times John can be found to be very impatient as he wants to be active at all times. As a child he's often been scolded for not sitting down when he was told to. When it comes to flying on his broom he's known to take great risks, sometimes without even knowing himself that he did. At other times he can be found to be quite cowardly, because he sees the danger to be greater than it really is.
STRENGTHS: John does well at flying and horseback riding. His father taught him early on and he was a quick learner because he trusts those close to him blindly. He is very open minded and can make friends easily because of his happy manners and relaxed attitude. He can motivate people well with his overflowing energy at times and likes joking around.
QUIRKS & HABITS: Whenever his fingers are unoccupied he drums on surfaces near or plays with whatever he gets in his hands, sometimes leading to the object's destruction (oops).
OVERALL PERSONALITY DESCRIPTION: Jonathan is a good boy in general. He's loyal and trusting towards those close to him, he's helpful even towards strangers and is passionate about whatever fascinates him. He grew up in a loving and protected enviroment, leading to him approaching people without prejudices and open arms. He still has a lot of excess energy and gets bored easily when he has nothing to do and to challenge him. He loves to learn what he didn't know before and grow beyond his limits. He lives the day and he has yet to have a black day in his life.

CHARACTER HISTORY: Jonathan was born to Jeremiah and Voilet Shacklebolt as the second child. Jeremiah met Violet on one of his travels he made before starting at the Ministry in the Centaur division. He's obsessed with everything horse related and so did a lot of research on the creatures. In an Irish forest he came across a petite little woman with pale skin, glowing softly in the moonlight and flaming red hair. With his dark skin and hair Jeremiah was all but invisible in the night and frightened the woman, who was collecting herbs, quite a bit, but the shock didn't stay for long. Jeremiah asked the woman to show him around in the area where she lived the next days and after the end of his travels he came back for the angelic creature of the woods.
The couple settled in Ireland and built up a little farm from scratch, most of it built on their own, which they were very proud of. They kept two horses and varying other pets. Violet kept a garden all around the little house and was soon established as the best Herbologist of the area.
Soon a child made the idyl complete. A few years after Evelyn was born, Jonathan came along and only two years after him Amber. The three children grew up on the little farm protected and away from the dirt of the city. Still Jonathan often prefered to spend his time inside rather than outside in the rain and only stepped out of the door when he needed to get somewhere with his energy. Then it didn't matter if it rained or not.
Jonathan has a very close relationship with both his sisters and they are almost like best friends by choice rather than relatives who had no choice. They spend much time together and John misses Eve as much as he misses his parents, maybe even more, when he and Amber are at Hogwarts. But he also misses his parents. He's impressed with his father for making his hobby and obsession his job and being proud of it and looks up to his mother for her extensive knowledge in her area.
At Hogwarts Jonathan never had trouble making friends with his happy manners and open mind. He wasn't too proud to ask people for help when he had trouble in a subject so he hardly ever fails assignments even in his worst classes. He enjoys his time at Hogwarts very much and doesn't have any idea yet what he might want to do for a living afterwards.
