Allison Prewitt
NAME: Allison Luana Prewitt
AGE: 17
SOCIAL CLASS: Lower Middle Class
STATUS: Single
OCCUPATION: Volunteer at St. Mungos
PLAY-BY: Hannah Murray
BLOOD STATUS: Pureblood
EYES: Hazel
HAIR: Blonde with long wavy curls
SKINTONE: pale as snow
HEIGHT & WEIGHT: 5’3 104lbs
DISTINGUISHING MARKS: n/a
OVERALL PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Alice is a rather ordinary girl. One might refer to her as plain. She stands at five foot three- the average height of a lady, a slim body, but a boyish frame. Little hips or bust, she is forced to wear a corset to give the allusion of a womanly figure. With long dirty blonde hair, that falls in messy waves and curls down past her shoulders. She has a small pert nose, and hazel eyes that are almost never in focus, her mind almost always vacant. The most noticeable thing about Alice is her mouth. It is rather too big for her face. She’s always smiling, a smile that is much too big and much too toothy. She has a wistful look about her, the look of someone who dreams of being elsewhere.
NON-MAGICAL SKILLS: Alice paints often, and sings too much- in her mother’s opinion. She is a keen flower arranger and has picked up the skill from her time volunteering at St. Mungos.
MAGICAL SKILLS: When it comes to magical skills Alice was always more than able to keep up with her peers. She scored highly on her papers and her practical in her OWLs. She mastered the basic spells that one must master at Hogwarts, but dropped out after sitting her OWLs, due to family reasons, and therefore did not learn the more advanced magic.
WEAKNESSES: Alice takes everything that is said to heart. She is quite a soft soul and easily hurt by other people’s words. She is entirely dependent on her parents, and always give in to her mother will: mostly out of fear of the older woman who has driven goals for her daughter.
STRENGTHS: She is unwaveringly kind. To everyone and anyone, despite her mother keen desire for her to marry above her station Alice is a firm believer that they are all the same. She has an endearing quality to her, despite coming across as rather dim people often feel that they want to protect and look after her. Something that keeps her out of harm’s way.
QUIRKS & HABITS: Alice always has a dreamy look about her, one that says you’re not sure if she’s paying attention to you or somewhere else completely (perhaps just on an opiate). When being spoke to she often has a large goofy smile on her face and replies with ‘Oh wow’ when she: doesn’t understand, doesn’t have a reply, or is genuinely amazed.
OVERALL PERSONALITY DESCRIPTION: Alice is a dreamy girl. To the observer it always appears that she is off somewhere else inside her head. ‘A bit dim’ they call her. The former Ravenclaw is not, in fact, stupid. She just never made the most of her abilities. She scored well in her OWLs, mostly E’s along with an O and an A or two. However, while she might be book smart- on some level- the teenager does not show this in her demeanour. She is a very happy and kind girl, always able to smile at everyone, and while she may not seem like she knows what is going on she often understands more than people like to think she does.
BIRTH PLACE: London
PARENTS: Astrid Lovegood (43) and Charles Prewitt (46)
SIBLINGS: James Prewitt (23)
SIGNIFICANT OTHER: n/a
CHILDREN: n/a
OTHERS: Astrid is the sister of Luana so she is technically cousins with Beatrice Fawley
CHARACTER HISTORY: Alice was born in the late July heat of summer. England was suffering from a heatwave, one like they hadn’t seen in years. Astrid- her mother- suffered a lot with her second pregnancy, the heat often left her dehydrated, and she already had a five year old child to deal with. After she was born Astrid told her husband- Charles- that there would be no more children. They were by no means a wealthy family. Astrid had come from a far more affluent background, but decided to marry down: for love. Charles managed to drag himself up from the lower classes into the middle class, working all hours at the ministry to fund the lifestyle that his wife was accustomed to. Allison grew up comfortably, though not extravagantly. She could still remember the argument between her parents when she was eleven. Her father didn’t see the need to send the girl to Hogwarts. She was not going to need that education anyway. Whatever she needed to learn surely Astrid could teach her? But Astrid was livid at this assumption.
There had been no question that James- her older brother- would go to Hogwarts. She knew that money was tight, but James would be graduating and getting a job soon. Alice was going to Hogwarts and that was final. Alice found that she quite liked Hogwarts, though she did not make too many friends. She had been sorted into Ravenclaw house, and the other girls thought her ‘dippy’. They claimed that the sorting hat had made a mistake when it came to her and really she belonged in Hufflepuff. The way they said it, it was as though they thought that it was some great insult. Alice would have much rather been in Hufflepuff, she had classes with them often, they were much nicer than her fellow Ravenclaws. She even managed to make a friend in one of the Hufflepuffs, Catherine.
Hogwarts was much more bearable after she made friends with Catherine. They would study together in the library and Alice would help Catherine with the things that she struggled with, while Catherine would help her from coming across as ‘silly’ or ‘dippy’ to the rest of the school. Alice was sorry to leave Hogwarts after her OWLs, but her mother finally backed down to her father and agreed that if she were only to be married they did not need to spend the money on the extra two years tuition. They just could not afford it.
Scarcely sixteen years old Alice went into training with her mother: ‘how to be a good wife’. She was taught to cook, to clean, to sow and darn. How babies were made was explained to her- explicitly between a man and wife, of course- as well as how one looked after a baby. Shortly before her seventeenth birthday Alice took part in a ‘coming out’ party. In which she was introduced to society- something she found very strange, especially given that she already knew so many of the people. Her lessons with her mother were cut down, and her mother had Alice volunteer at St. Mungos, reading to the patients, arranging flowers for their beds. Her mother did this in hope that while she was there Alice would manage to enchant one of the healers and find herself a good husband.
