NAME: Rian Turner
AGE: 15

PLAY-BY: Logan Lerman
BlOOD STATUS: Muggleborn
EYES: Blue
HAIR: Brown
SKINTONE: Fair
HEIGHT & WEIGHT: 5'8 & 155 lbs
DISTINGUISHING MARKS: On the right side of his back where his shoulder is.
OVERALL PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Somewhat average height with brown hair that he keeps cut short, Rian doesn't have any kind of muscle build, nor does he care to gain any. He walks with his head down and his gaze downcast. One would think he's defeated before they even meet him. He smiles in passing, but other than that you can see he's in thought or daydreaming, and he often looks bored if not depressed.
NON-MAGICAL SKILLS: Rian doesn't have many skills. He mainly just spends his time lounging around and question the universe. He likes puzzles and chess though. He also likes to run whenever he feels like he's thinking too much. He'll gladly race anyone on foot.
MAGICAL SKILLS: He loves flying. It's the one thing that helps calm him. Other than that, magic isn't really his thing. It's never helped him before and he doubts it ever will.
BEST/WORST CLASSES:
Best: Flying, Divination, Transfiguration
Worst: Care of Magical Creatures, Herbology, DADA
WEAKNESSES: Rian has lost it all and he's terrified that the last bit of family he has left will suddenly disappear. He's got a fear of being alone and does not take to kindly to the thought of death and blood. He's constantly plagued by nightmares, gets little sleep, and refuses to get over the fact that what happened to his family was not his fault. He often places the blame on himself and would rather shoulder the weight of the world alone than to drag anyone else down with him. He also finds it very difficult to concentrate in class, although he knows the information. His mind is always a million miles away.
STRENGTHS: Although he struggles to concentrate in class, Rian misses nothing. He's hyper aware of everything around him. He never misses a beat. He knows how to shoulder his problems alone and hide his pain well. He's independent. A lot of things phase him, but he keeps a level head through a lot of it and even tries to laugh it off every now and again. For him, laughter can be a good way of fight off the misery, even when the pain is all too real. He's also very aware of his weakness and fears.
QUIRKS & HABITS: He often daydreams in class. If he's near a window he'll stare out of it for hours on in without a care in the world, but he'll answer a question without hesitation.
OVERALL PERSONALITY DESCRIPTION: Rian is struggling to understand what's happening in his life. It's filled with chaos and death. All of which he blames on himself. He doesn't think he's worth anything, but he's stronger than he thinks. He can remember more things than he should and answer question quickly without a pause, but he's got very little confidence in himself. A lot of things scare him and it shows in his everyday demeanor. He's yet to figure out what he wants in his life because his past keeps holding him down. All he wants is for something to hold onto, something permanent, but he's never had that luxury. He purposely surrounds himself with friends in hopes that at least one them will remain, but he doesn't really open up to them. To him, life is a game that's he's constantly losing. At only fifteen, he's given up on all hope. Happiness is a million miles away in his eyes.

CHARACTER HISTORY: Erikson and Andromeda were looking forward to welcoming another child into the family. Ralph had been their baby for a long time, ten years to be exact, but not anymore. Now they had Rian and to their joy, the little boy was also a wizard, just like his big brother. Both of Rian's parents were muggles and to know that their boys were wizards was something that repeatedly made their day. Despite the age difference, Rian and Ralph grew to be really close. In fact, once Rian was accepted into Hogwarts, his brother offered to take him to Diagon Alley and help him shop for his supplies. Erikson and Andromeda never complained, for they had Dalila to take care of and they knew the two would be okay. For Rian, having his big brother around was all he needed. He never expected for the person who meant the world to him to be snatched away, or anyone for that matter. Tragedy would be a curse that continuously plagued Rian.
On a chilly Monday morning, Rian had decided to take his little brothers out onto the lake for some ice skating. Alek and Alister were only four at the time, so his mother had warned him to not go far. Rian had agreed to stay close to land. He'd even come up with a full proof plan to help his brother's skate. Finding some old rope in the basement, he attached it to his waist and then to their waist, helping them along the ice by pulling them. It was exciting and fun, up until the point in which the rope snapped and Alister went sliding across the thinner ice, falling in seconds later after he came to a stop. Rian and Alek had quickly gone to save him, but the second they got too close to the hole, they fell in. Rian was sure he would die that day. The icy water against his skin made him so cold and the weight of the water dragging him down made him panic. It felt like lifetimes before he felt someone pulling him out of the water. Ralph had dragged him and Alek out of the water. He could remember hearing his brother call for their parents before he blacked out. When he woke up, his mother was crying and his father was pacing. Next to him was a sleeping Alek, but there was no Alister. Rian would later learn that his brother had drowned in the lake. Not even two weeks later he would lose Alek to pneumonia. The young boy had never recovered from his fall into the lake. Rian was devastated. He repeatedly apologized to his mother and father, but they'd always said it wasn't his fault. To Rian it was. He'd brought them onto the lake. He'd used the old rope! He'd not been able to save Alister or Alek! It was his fault they were dead.
Although his parents would move to a different home, Rian could never forget the pain of losing his brothers. Even Hogwarts wasn't far away enough. In fact, in his first year he lost his mother. In November he got a letter from his mother stating that his sister had been killed while trying to deliver his birthday gift and to his dismay, the killer was never found. In the Spring his mother would grow ill. She'd stopped eating and speaking after Dalila's death. Rian had been unable to get home to her in time to say goodbye. Four deaths had been too much for him. Rian grew depressed and refused to talk to anyone. He spent countless nights crying in the bathrooms and his room.
The following year his father passed away without notice. Rian had been on summer break during this time. The suddenness of it had left him feeling like he was cursed. Was he the cause of his family slowly dying off? He was so scared that everyone would be gone and he'd be alone, that he stayed close to Ralph at all times. His brother never complained or seemed to mind. In fact he tried to cheer up Rian by taking him to HoneyDukes. It was like a thing up until his fourth year. They'd went to Diagon Alley and spent the day there and afterwards, because he'd claimed it would only be a quick stop, Ralph stopped in Knockturn Alley with his younger brother. Rian had made sure to stay close, for he'd heard horror stories about this place and when it grew dark, he had started to get a very bad feeling.
As they left out of the shop, two guys had come from nowhere and attacked them. Curses were thrown and blood was everywhere by the end of it. Rian had a large gash on the back of his right shoulder and he was covered in scratches and bruises. Ralph lay motionless on the ground next to him, bleeding out from a wound, but Rian knew he was gone. He didn't think he'd ever stop crying. He didn't think he'd ever be able to get past all of the deaths. He was left with his only surviving relative, Arran Turner, his grandfather who was retired, blind in one eye, and partly deaf. It's no lie to say that Rian is waiting for him to pass like everyone else.

It was quiet in the Group Commons, which was no problem for Rian. He was laying out on one of the couches, reading over some things from class. Underneath him he had a stack of books that he had yet to read. Books about nonsense like curses and bad luck. He wanted to know why such things had happened in his life. Why everyone in his family had died and why was it his fault? He dropped the notes and rolled onto his side. He didn't have the energy to do much more than read and even he didn't want to do that right now.
Instead he listened to the sounds of everyone moving around. There wasn't much going on, but he could hear two girls talking about boys and a guy across from him was mumblings charms. The sound of footsteps made him turn slightly, but only enough for him to get a glimpse of the person walking over. "I don't feel like moving," he mumbled.
