HAIR: Her hair is very long and a deep rich red. It is naturally straight, but often Eilidh will curl it with magic because she thinks that her straight hair is rather boring.

OVERALL PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Eilidh, it cannot be denied, is a very pretty girl. She stands at around five foot five inches and is of slim stature. She was very grateful when her breasts started to grow in during her fifth year of Hogwarts, beforehand she had been convinced that she had the body of a little boy. She has long deep red hair that is both thick and straight, Eilidh often French pleats her hair at night when it is wet so when it dries it dries in curls. Eilidh has very bright blue eyes that often sparkle when she’s talking about something that she’s passionate about. She has high cheek bones and very fully dark pink lips. Eilidh thinks that the most distinguishing thing about her face is her freckles. Or fairy kisses, as her mother calls them, they are always there, but are much darker and there are more of them in summer when they are brought out by the sun.
NON-MAGICAL SKILLS: Eilidh is very skilled when it comes to knitting, she has been doing it since she was five years old and her mother first put a pair of knitting needles into her hands. She is also a rather skilled speaker when she has time to prepare what it is that she wishes to say, when put on the spot she is more likely to stutter and splutter and not get her point across as eloquently as she would like.
MAGICAL SKILLS: Eilidh is a fairly average student, she works hard at all of her subjects because her parents have instilled an importance in education in all of their children. She excels more in charms and in history of magic, she is also a fair flyer.
BEST/WORST CLASSES: Her best class is charms, which is something that comes a little easier to her. She struggles more with Defence Against the Dark Arts, thinking that it isn’t something that she will have to use therefore a little pointless.
WEAKNESSES: Eilidh is easily led, it’s one of the downfalls of being a twin, they are rather co-dependent. Eilidh is much more likely to just do whatever Nathaira or her other siblings want to do rather than trying to make a decision on what to do for herself, even if this sometimes get her into trouble.
STRENGTHS: Eilidh does not do things by half, whatever she feels she feels to the utmost full. She doesn’t like when she can love nor does she dislike when she can hate. It is both a strength and a weakness for her. She is a very skilled knitter, both by hand and by magic: sometimes doing both at the same time.
QUIRKS & HABITS: Eilidh is always knitting. It’s almost like she doesn’t realise that she’s doing it anymore, she doesn’t have to pay attention at all, whether at a Quidditch match, a book club meeting or just talking in her common room Eilidh will always have some project or other on her knitting needles.
OVERALL PERSONALITY DESCRIPTION: Eilidh is a kind hearted, if somewhat easily led girl. She is quick to love, but equally quick to temper – she often blames this on her red hair, but really she just shares her mother’s temperament. Family is very close her Eilidh’s heart and one day she wishes to have a family of her own, outside of this Eilidh has no real drive for her life, she enjoys school and her studies, but doesn’t really have any intention of taking them any further once she’s finished her NEWTs. Instead she is going to work from home in the same way her mother does, selling the things that she makes either for profit or for trading. Despite her lack of real drive Eilidh is passionate about almost everything that she does that she enjoys, she doesn’t like to do things by half, instead throwing herself in headfirst, which is what makes friendships so difficult for her. She gets upset when other people don’t put in as much effort as she does. Thankfully she has a twin sister there as a built in friend, but she does not have too many friends outside of her siblings.

CHARACTER HISTORY: Fergus Mckinnon met Isla MacDonald at Hogwarts, though they did not have much contact until there was a ball in Fergus’s seventh year. Isla, who had been a quiet a bookish girl, much more interested in her knitting and her studies than making eyes at boys, came out looking like a Scottish Princess. Her hair had been curled, her eyes lined with coal, her dress equipped with her family tartan. Fergus couldn’t take his eyes off of her. Despite Isla being three years younger the pair had danced all night long and started a courtship shortly thereafter.
They had had to wait for Isla to finish her education before they were able to marry, so it wasn’t until the summer after Isla graduated that they were married at the church on Skye with their close family and friends around them. Isla’s family who were from the mainland, not too far away from the Isle of Skye, had been putting money aside for Isla – their only child – which they used to buy the young couple a cottage and some farm land on the island.
It was scarcely eighteen months later Isla gave birth to a little bundle of joy, a boy they called Alasdair. The small family were happy, they used the land that they had to grow enough crops to feed themselves and to use to trade at the market. When Alasdair turned two years old Isla was blessed with another healthy baby boy, Graeme. Isla was happy with her babies and the joy that they brought her, teaching them how to do things and how to be good little men. She knew that they had both and heir and a spare, as the saying went, but her heart longed for a little girl. Alasdair was five years old, and Graeme three when her wish was finally granted and Isla gave birth to not just one little girl but two. Twins Eilidh and Nathaira, born scarcely minutes apart.
The birth had been hard on Isla, multiples always were, and after the girls had been born the doctor had informed her and Fergus that they would not be able to have any more children. While this was a sad realisation for Isla, that these were her last babes, the couple had not had any intentions on having any more children, they had two of each and they were not greedy, that was more than enough.
Eilidh had a happy childhood. She played out in the fields with her siblings, learning about berries and was pleased to admit that she could climb the highest of all of them when they had a tree climbing competition. Of course Fergus had not been happy when he had had to come out to the other end of the field and help her down when she got stuck. All four siblings had cried when Alasdair went away to Hogwarts – though Alasdair and Graeme were quick to deny it when it was brought up – it was the first time that any of them had spent any time at all apart from each other. Eilidh had even been too young to write anything to her brother that was more than an ‘I miss you’ scrawled in her best hand writing.
Then a few years later Graeme too went away to the school in the highlands and it was just Eilidh and Nathaira apart from during the holidays. Eilidh spent a lot of time with her mother, the girls spent less time climbing trees and more time learning how to knit, sow, and cook things that their mother deemed would be useful in later life for them. Eilidh liked knitting. She would knit little outfits for her and Nathaira’s dolls and mittens for the whole family one Christmas.
When the time came Eilidh was more than ready to go away to Hogwarts. She was happy to be back with her brothers again. The four of them spend a significant amount of time together, setting family time aside – at the request of their parents – so despite houses and ages they would all have each other.
