Dear Egbert Abel Malfoy, How are your holidays so far? I know we've only just seen each other early in the day when we got off the train, but I had the desire to write you. My father did come to take me home with him! It was very exciting, though I tried not to show it. He doesn't like it very much when other people are too happy. I baked cookies and we decorated his house, a little. It isn't as nice as Hogwarts or your home, I'm sure, but I can finally say I've spent a day in an actual home. One that could have been mine if I'd not been born so soon. But then we wouldn't have met and became friends. Are you going to attend that ball? I read about it in the paper. You should go. It would probably be something you'd enjoy. Write back soon. - Elsa Lovie King

Dear Elsa King,
My holidays are uneventful so far. I am only happy to be home and see my brother Sander and my sisters. I have missed them as much as I have missed you. I'm very happy that you get to spend the holidays with your father. I hope you enjoy every moment of it, you deserve it. I wish we could spend at least a day together so that we could decorate and have cookies. Maybe one day before school starts once more we can meet under the tree by the orphanage. You can bring your cat and I will bring my mouse. I'm glad we're friends, Elsa. I'm not going to the ball. It seems better suited for adults. If you go I'll go.

Dear Egbert Malfoy,
How is your brother? I remember that you told me he was going to be an Auror at the Ministry of Magic. My father doesn't like that place very much. His shop is in Knockturn Alley. Why do you think the Ministry of Magic has a problem with those that work in Knockturn Alley? It is a bit frightening if you're alone, but there are only shops there. I'd like to hear more about your sisters, though I'm glad you miss me as much as you've missed them. That means we are very good friends! I might be back sooner to the orphanage. I'm not sure how long my father will tolerate me being in his home. And that's a fantastic idea! We can decorate the tree. Though I'm sure Dewdrop will try to steal the decorations. If I go? I could wear the dress you bought me, but I don't know how to find that home. And I'm not upper-class, like you. I can just imagine all the delicious food and the dresses! Maybe I can go, so that we can go together. But how would I get there?

Dear Elsa King,
My brother is well, but I have not had the time to talk to him much. My extended family is staying with us for the holidays and it seems like everyone is far too busy to bother catching up. I think he likes being an Auror though. My father does not speak well of those in Knockturn, he says it is were people with dark hearts spend their days practicing the dark arts. That however is hearsay and I do not particularly like hearsay. Please be careful though. I adore my sisters, especially Theodora and Rosina and Jaina, not that I don't adore my eldest sister Belvina. We can bring plenty of decorations so that Dewdrop can have whatever decorations she want. I suppose you are right, we have no way of getting there. I could ask my brother Sander, but I'd rather not be a pest. I am sorry.

Dear Egbert Malfoy,
Extended family? Is that like your Uncle and cousins? I don't think I have an extended family. I've only met my father, though my mother might have siblings. I'm glad that your brother likes his work, if he truly does. Being an Auror seems dangerous, seeing as many people do not like them very much. Maybe your father is right, about the dark arts bit. But is it wrong to practice that kind of magic? I don't think so. It can be used for good, and the magic we learn at Hogwarts can be used for wrong acts. I'm perfectly safe, as long as I am close to my father, I promise. What do you not like about Belvina? I believe you mentioned that Rosina was the youngest, but I can't be sure. You have so many siblings - it must be fun! I think we should also use winter flowers, to decorate the trunk of the tree. Don't apologize, Egbert. There will probably be more dances in the future that we are both able to attend. And there would have been too many people. I like it better when it is just the two of us.

Dear Elsa King,
Yes, that is exactly what I mean. I don't think my brother Sander is happy about sharing a room with Octavian though. He seemed rather cross upon Octavian's arrival and Ammon didn't help the situation. They argue so much. Does your father not have siblings? What of your grandparents? You should find out. It will give you something to talk about with your father. Auror's are like the muggle military. Have you taken Muggle Studies? The Ministry of Magic doesn't like it, but who's to say that the art is wrong. I think it has a negative view because so many have used it in negative ways. I've never seen anyone use dark magic before. I don't think I'd very much like to see it used either. You are correct though. Magic learned at school can be used improperly as well. I suppose it depends on the person. I'm glad you're safe. Belvina is, different. I am not opposed to differences, but we disagree on a lot. I don't really want to talk about it, in case she reads my letters. I do love my siblings though. Maybe you can meet Rosie one day. I think you two would be great friends. Yes, winter flowers will work. And, if you don't mind, we can dance to make up for missing the Duke's ball. Just the two of us.
