So as we already have much uproar with the Chamber Plot, we could just inclose the election we planned to do not long after starting the site. There are a few things to discuss here.
Are we doing it now? The next Minister and the election could be influenced by the blood purity stuff
Who's running for Minister?
When are we doing the election?
I suggest we vote in character. Are we taking the real life 1885 vote rights? Or do the wizards have different rights? (think of women and the minimum age, creatures etc.)
Are there more things we need to discuss?

None of my characters are going to run but some adults will vote. I think we should at a minimum vote age for 17 as you're considered an adult then in the wizard world. Creatures shouldn't be allowed to vote but I am not sure about women. They do seem to have more power in the wizarding world than the muggle world as females have been minister of magic or headmaster in the old years. So if one can run for minister of magic they should be able to vote to. harrypotter.wikia.com/wiki/Minister_for_Magic there still is a cannon minister of magic but we aren't that cannon as we do the chamber plot which didn't happen around this time either

I agree with Julia that the minimum voting age should be 17. I don't think Cadmus Rosier would run, and he's really the only old enough one I plan on having yet.
Magical creatures should not be allowed to vote, but women should be.

I would like for Wodan Brandr Stensrud to run for office, have some pre-election stuff going soon and the actual election maybe in April a few weeks so everyone has the chance to vote in character. I agree with creatures not voting. It fits our politics so far. Women should be allowed to since they held high positions already. 17 sounds good. Did I forget something?

Minimum voting age: 17. Are women allowed to vote? Yes. Creatures? Current would say yes, but society would say no.
The up-coming candidates need to have a good platform and I'm all for them throwing dirt at Micajah. Sort of saying, "Look how he didn't prevent this. Or he protects those that would harm us! Let's air his dirty laundry from the past." Whatever, you know, smear tactics. But it'll be them saying that they would do the opposite.
Election stuff will be happening alongside the Chamber plot and during this time, the Minister will also have one of his children kidnapped. By who? Who knows. Maybe one of the candidates has it done to show their power and backing. It could just be someone that gets incited by the new candidates pointing out all the flaws during Micajah's term as Minister. These things get messy and I love it.

An election will be fun. Yes to those seventeen and older who wish to vote, yes to women, and no to creatures. I won't be around during that time so depending on how the campaign threads go I'll send the admins my votes if that's okay.

My PC self wants women and creatures to be able to vote. But my gut is telling me that if we were going to be realistic it would only be the Men who got to vote and likely only those either over the age of 21 or 25 or 30 from what little I can remember of the distribution of the vote that I learned at school.
However, I'm easy to go with the flow if people want to make the voting age younger and give witches some voting rights.

I would like Adrian Rinaldi to run for minister. I also agree with the 17 being the age to vote as that's when they're considered adults. I'm on the fence about women voting because of the time frame. And the possible plot lines of women banning together to protest their lack of voting rights. I could see my Anna leading a few of those haha. But if everyone wants to allow them to vote that's cool with me. And no to creatures voting as well.
