HEIGHT & WEIGHT:

DISTINGUISHING MARKS:
His big blue eyes which can be breathtaking
OVERALL PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:
Tristan is of average height and weight. Even if he doesn't reach the height Danish men are famous for, he does have the typical big blue eyes and golden locks. His hair is of wavy texture, almost curly. His face is oval shaped and he has a modest nose. Since he has been able to, he is growing a little beard. He feels like it is needed to show he is capable and mature enough to handle being a duke. His body is in a healthy shape, slightly muscular due to hunting, swords fighting and horse riding but not overly so. He is still a little bit lazy when it comes to moving so he has to watch his food.
NON-MAGICAL SKILLS:
sword fighting, horse riding, hunting(using bow and arrow). He can also read and write very fast. He has a lot of knowledge because of the huge amount of studies he has done and books he has read.
MAGICAL SKILLS:
Tristan isn't the greatest wizard of all time. Actually barely knows how to fight as he has people to do that for him. If he fights he chooses the muggle way over a magical fight. He fears that if he uses a wand he'll use spells too dangerous for him to control. Often he'll just pretend that he is too good to use a wand instead of admitting he isn't talented in the use of it.
WEAKNESSES:
Tristan has lived in a rather isolated environment all his life. He isn't very good with communicating with people out of the upperclass and has barely been exposed to them. He is also very oblivious to people flirting with him. His biggest fear is becoming like his father and losing who he is.
STRENGTHS:
He'll almost always remain proper. When out in the public he wears an arrogant and flamboyant mask but behind the screens he can be gentle and sweet. Tristan can see values in someone even if that person can't see it themselves.
QUIRKS & HABITS:
Tristan is utterly vain, he always carries a comb with him in case his hair gets messed up. He also loves to shop for the latest fashion and impress other people with his wealth.
OVERALL PERSONALITY DESCRIPTION:
At first sight is Tris quite the arrogant and self loving young man. He knows he is rich and royalty and due to how he was treated in his home country, expects to be treated like royalty all the time. Only having one true friend, he isn't really the best at gaining or giving trust. There are many secrets he carries around and only discusses with Silas. His best friend has seen a more subdued side of Tristan. Like any other human he has his doubts but doesn't like the public to know.
Despite the flamboyant and cocky personality he carries around when he has free time, he can be serious and work when things need to happen. Tristan is not the smartest person, mostly because he can come across as ignorant and oblivious to many things. He has studied a lot and knows many things but isn't smart when it comes to handling things. Especially when it comes to people, namely women and people of middleclass and below. Tristan has never seen a homeless person and for him it is quite unthinkable how life must be for them. Of course he has heard of their existence but he never understood the trouble of the working class.
The young lord avoids getting into fight. Because royals have enough money to let people fight for them. Only when there would be a war, he'd draw his sword(which he prefers over a wand).

CHARACTER HISTORY:
The Rosenkrantz family is an ancient noble Danish, Norwegian and Swedish family. The oldest known member is from 1308. There are several lines of the family. Most have gone extinct during the 1700s. The only still living line is the Newer Scanian line, or line 10. They live in Sweden. Tristan is from the third line, the line of Arreskov, located in Denmark. He is the last of his line and the line will most likely die with him, thus making the Scanian line the only healthy living one. His mother is from a Swedish noble family.
The Rosenkrantz family is of origin a muggle family. However witches and wizards have been married into it so the later generations often possessed magic. Which is why they are less welcome in blood purist wizarding communities. In the eyes of blood purist this family consists of nozy muggles who married magical humans on purpose for power.
There is also a rumour a story about a curse laying on this line of the family. One day in 1725 and old poor witch was traveling through the town. Her old bones were unable to carry her further so she really needed a place to stay. She begged the current Rosenkrantz lord if she could stay somewhere and eat for free since she had no money. The lord laughed and told her to get out of his town. The legend says that she cursed all carrying the Rosenkrantz name who’d live in the mansion, just before she died in the cold outside. All adult men would dwell into madness which became incurable in 5 years, each year falling further. That’s just a rumour however until now the curse seemed to be true, even if the duke had forbidden to talk about it.
Adrianus Rosenkrantz, fell under the curse just like all other males before him. When he turned seventeen he started to fall into madness, just like his father and grandfather had before him. The first five years were still very light. It wasn’t until he reached twenty one when he started to get violent, selfish and greedy. He poisoned his elder brother and sister so he’d be the only child and only rightful heir. When he was young he already had been jealous of the attention his elder siblings got while he was being left to his mother. All his anger suddenly came out.
When he turned 29, his father had become a drooling mad mess. Afraid that the town would get light of it and confirm that the curse was true, he also poisoned his father and claimed the title and mansion for himself. By the time he turned 30 he had found a fitting wife for himself to make his life complete. Poor Lovisa had no idea what she was getting herself into. The girl followed her father’s advice and married Adrianus. Often things went well but now and then she noticed things were strange. Adrianus didn’t always seemed fully right in his mind. Still the first two years he was kind to her and loved him for so far he could bring himself to love.
When Lovisa got pregnant, Adrianus swore to himself to have only one child. As he didn’t want to become like his father, he didn’t want to neglect any of his children. So he only wanted one child, to be sure it didn’t happen. If the child was a girl, he accepted the end of the Arreskov line.
As his wife was two months pregnant, he started to notice one of their maids was acting off. It turned out she was four months pregnant now and that she had a hidden secret relationship with Adrianus’ loyal and trusted butler: Emil Nielsen. Adrianus had a hard word with the both of them. He told them that the child was allowed to be born and should become his child’s personal servant. The maid was to be fired once the child was born and Emil had to raise it.
The maid’s child was born, it was a boy and got the name Silas. As said before the maid had to pack her things and leave her child in the hands of his father. Not able to get breast feeded by his mother, Silas got fed by a woman hired by Adrianus. It was just a matter of pride. The maid did things behind his back so he wasn’t going to allow her. Still he wanted the boy to grow up healthy as he would have to serve his own child well later in his life.
Two months later Arianus’ own child was born. It was a day of joy. Tristan Valdemar Alston Quinn Rosenkrantz was welcomed in the world with a great feast. All the inhabitants of the village and family members(for as far as they were still alive) were invited.
After Tristan was born the relationship between the man and woman of the house crumbled. Adrianus often refused to lay with his wife and instead he went for prostitutes who he paid extra to make sure they didn’t get pregnant. The rare times he did share with his wife were not like they used to be. Always he made sure his wife would never expect another child. Sometimes he went as far at spilling potions in her drink, causing miscarriages. Through the years his madness grew.
Tristan had anything but a normal childhood. Everywhere he went was his father, watching his back, making sure he carried the Rosenkrantz name with pride. Tristan was raised to emit authority and pride. Despite all the rich royal children he was forced to bond with. Silas would always remain his only true and best friend. The friendship between the boys sickened Adrianus. Often he was cruel to them both to remind them of their place in this world.
Whenever Tristan did something wrong, even being it reading a line wrong, heavy punishments followed. Adrianus was unheard strict. Mostly because he only had one child and he expected nothing but anything perfect. Tristan was overthrown in study, mostly languages and economics.
Everyone in the town knew him and everyone always was kind and polite to him. Mostly because they feared what his father would do. So Tristan grew up thinking he was loved by his people even if the love was fake.
His mother slowly started to fall into a depression due to all the bad luck she had with having children. Also because she knew her husband was unfaithful and slowly slipping from the road of sanity. At some point she got pregnant and kept it hidden from her husband who found out a month later, he kicked and hit her belly and did other cruel things to make sure no child would be born. Lovisa truly started to grow frightened of Adrianus.
By the time Tristan turned nine, his father grew abusive and violent towards everyone in the mansion. They all kept the things going on a secret, for the sake of maintaining the good name. The curse should remain silent. Lovisa got the worst of it. Tristan saw what his father did to his mother but never was able to do anything. He was terrified of his own father. Who forced him to do things he didn’t want to do and if he didn’t do it he got hurt as well. The butler Emil was eventually the one who stepped in. He took Adrianus apart for quite some time. When they returned things seemed to have calmed down.
Still Tristan was glad he and Silas could escape to Durmstrang. There he was still treated like royalty and Silas took on the role of the servant. Silas made sure Tristan always got what he needed. If Tristan did something stupid, Silas would take the blame. In the beginning Tristand didn’t notice this but by their second year he found out and felt guilty for it all. Silas replied that it had been lord Rosenkrantz’ request but that he also did it because they were friends. Even if they were from different classes, Tristan never treated Silas as anything less than he was. They were brothers in his eyes. Silas was obviously smarter and quicker to act while Tristan had the knowledge due to all the studies he had done.
Just after they finished their fifth year together, Silas was told he wasn’t going to do his NEWTS. Simply because he was a mere butler and would always remain that way. There was no need for him to learn advanced magic. That same summer was filled of horrors playing one after the other. Emil died of a sickness and a couple of weeks later Lovisa took her own life, scared now her only ally was gone. Things did took a turn for the worse. Tristan blamed his father, even though he poisoned his mother. Now he had no longer a wife or butler to unleash his rage on, it all fell on Tristan. The hate towards his father grew with the day.
Adrianus had managed to buy his son into Hogwarts, to take his NEWTS in a different language but also to spread the word of their family. They heard the wealth in Britain was growing and they wanted to make use of it. Tristan didn’t like Hogwarts as much as he did Durmstrang. Yet he should be glad because Hogwarts never takes on transfer students.
At Hogwarts he wasn’t treated like royalty and couldn’t get away with everything. In fact he faced blood purists for the first time in his life. It made him see how life could also be. That a lot has been hidden from him and that he wasn’t as beloved as he thought.
For his seventeenth birthday his father had taken him to a red house. Where the old man sat in the corner of the room as he forced his son to prove his ‘male adulthood’. Tris who had never been told a single thing had no idea what was going on. However Adrianus believed that the will to do it came from within and didn’t have to be taught. If Tristan couldn’t succeed, Adrianus saw no further reason for his son to life. The life could of the boy be undone off and by the time Adrianus died, he could be buried with all his belongings instead having it to give away.
Tristan couldn’t do it. Especially not with his father watching and sometimes almost joining. He felt incredibly awkward and out of his place. He’d never seen this woman before and suddenly he was naked with her with his father’s burning eyes on his back. After some severe beatings and getting the help of alcohol and a strange looking pill, he eventually managed to pull it off. Even if he didn’t remember a single thing of it the next day. Not even that his father also taught him how to make sure women wouldn’t have his children. Because they couldn’t have bastards walking around. His father would let him life and he was glad enough for that.
Being seventeen, he started to show symptoms of the curse which alerted Siras. During his last year at Hogwarts nothing seemed to bother him. Until he returned back, graduated and all. By this time lord Rosenkrantz’ sanity seemed to have totally disappeared. Instead of having some crazy moments now and then they were happy enough to see some sane moments now and then. There were many times where he threatened his own son with death without a reason. Tristan started to fear Silas, the other workers and he were no longer safe. Especially after the first dead maid was found, things needed to happen.
Tristan managed to get the hand of some rather heavy sleeping pills which he gave to Silas and told him to dissolve them in his father’s gin. Silas didn’t ask questions and even if he sort of realized what they were doing, he went with it. This he betrayed the lord he worked for. He too knew things couldn’t go on like this. When the old man was fast asleep, Tristan carried him into the big bath. There he cut his father’s wrists open and left them in the water so the man would die of bloodloss. This way it’d seem like suicide. Oddly enough Tristan felt satisfied by doing this. Being eighteen now he too started to get affected by the curse. The young man laughed in himself as he looked at his father’s body in a pool which slowly started to turn red. His mother was justified in his eyes. Silas came in and was shocked by what he saw. Especially the look on the young master’s face terrified him. This was his best friend, the same kind boy who’d always stay at his side no matter what.
Silas swore to follow Tristan for now, to cover up the fact that it wasn’t suicide but that they had killed the former lord. Tristan became the new lord, which should have been an improvement for the folk and staff. It was for them but the young lord slowly started to lose himself. Tristan became arrogant and full of himself. His soul no longer felt whole now he had claimed the title for himself by taking it from the former duke. Silas saw his friend disappear and make place for something else. Something like his father, greedy and cruel. Though these were still small fragments, even if they haunted the dark haired boy’s dreams.
The new lord ordered Silas to sleep in his bed because now and then he started to see things in his room. Things that frightened him. His loyal friend/butler was the only one he trusted with everything. Some day Silas caught air of the legendary rumour which was kept secret for over a century. The people who spoke of it feared for their lives but Silas promised to keep it to himself. Strangely the story seemed to fit with his friend. Knowing Tristan was twenty so an ‘adult’ for three years now, they only had two more years before there was no return.
Eventually Silas spilled the tale to his friend, who never heard of it before. Still it explained a lot and scared him. Together they moved from the mansion to England. ‘For career reasons’, they said. Tristan seemed to be doing slowly better. But he fears the curse would follow him. The Daily Prophet got air of the young rich duke now having a house in England too. Rumours started to spread of him searching for a woman to marry. Even if this wasn’t true, many women caught the news and started to try. Tris always remained blind and would never catch a flirt unless the woman says ‘I want to marry you, let’s do it’. For now he had more important things on his mind.
