DISTINGUISHING MARKS: Alina has very dark heavy eyebrows which differ from her blonde hair, she considered attempting to lightening them with magic, but decided against it because she enjoyed the contrast.
OVERALL PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Alina takes great pride in her appearance. She thinks herself rather plane, which means that she needs to work harder than most of her friends to look good. She does not come from a wealthy family so she thinks that in order to get ahead in life she needs to look as though she comes from a higher class than she does. She has perfectly smooth milky while skin. She enjoys wearing powders and rouge and colours on her lips when she can get away with it. She cannot afford to spend a lot of money on clothes, but the cheap clothes that she does get she alters herself to look good.
NON-MAGICAL SKILLS: Alina has an eye for dress making, it started with altering some of her own clothes, then attempting a simple gown pattern and now she can make almost anything she wants to with a little help from her wand. She can design beautiful gowns fit for Queens, however what she makes is limited to fabrics she can afford.
MAGICAL SKILLS: Alina is talented at charms and transfiguration which she uses elements of to help put her dress designs together.
BEST/WORST CLASSES: Her best class is charms. Her worst class by far is potions, Alina is not interested and therefore does not put any effort into the intricacies of potion making.
WEAKNESSES: Alina has a temper, it is so great and strong that it scares her, when she cannot keep it under control it can be her greatest weakness. She considers her past one of her greatest weaknesses, she dreads the idea of her friends knowing the real reason that her mother is not at home. She also hates her social status, she does not want to be one of the lower classes, aspiring to be better.
STRENGTHS: Alina can be very charming when she wants to be. She has the gift of being able to enchant people elder and better than she herself, something which she hopes to use as a means of getting an apprenticeship with a robe maker when she leaves Hogwarts.
QUIRKS & HABITS: When Alina gets angry she digs her four finger nails deeply into her thumb, the pain helps her concentrate and stops her doing anything irrational or dangerous, however as a result her thumb is rarely free of the deep red welts left by her sharp nails.
OVERALL PERSONALITY DESCRIPTION: Alina is somewhat of an enigma. She is a well put together young girl who tries hard to keep herself in the graces of people whom she deems better than herself socially. She works as hard as she can at keeping her clothes up to the standard of her peers, making them herself from older out of fashion gowns or even just out of the fabric. However, she cannot always keep her angelic face in place and when she loses her temper she is more like a devil than an angel. She does not like getting angry, she fears the lack of control she has when it happens, which is why she turns to self-inflicted pain to keep herself focused. She is afraid that her anger makes her like her mother and it will stop her from attaining her full potential. She is very determined to make something of herself, even if that is only to be better than her mother.

CHARACTER HISTORY: In part copied from Miska’s app. Vera Pavov (the mother) was always a bit strange. Her parents often worried about her, from adolescence to adulthood, and despite her marriage to Timur Rusakov (the father), things did not change much. Vera was prone to sudden outburst of rage and was more than willing to curse one or two people a day if they so much as looked at her wrong. She often said the voices told her to do things, but they became a bit quieter when she met Timur Rusakov on a snowy night in the streets of Russia. Vera had been walking barefoot in the snow when Timur had come across her, deeply concerned for her health and mental state he took her into the nearest inn where he helped her warm up and later found her home. It was several long months before they crossed paths again. This time Vera was feeling like her normal self and could hold a conversation with Timur. Timur felt a certain obligation to the woman's life he'd saved and began to court her. A year later they were engaged when Vera was 22 and Timur 24. The wed the following year and moved the year after that to the other side of Russia.
Vera had multiple occasions where she became agitated and wanted nothing to do with anyone. Her anger resulted in her harming a muggle in broad daylight. She would have done more than harm the poor fellow had Timur not been around. Unfortunately he could not protect his wife from the authorities on both the wizarding and muggle end. He did however plead for them to send her to the Asylum instead of Azkaban. His pleas were thankfully heard and Vera spent a year in the Asylum. She returned less deranged and Timur moved them to the country to keep her away from people and in a less stressful setting. Vera seemed to like the peaceful countryside, where she busied herself with knitting and pottery and gardening. When she came to Timur and requested that she wanted a child to care for, he was to say the least unsure, but a year later in August of 1864, Savin Rusakov was born. The first child of eight. Vera seemed to improve with Savin to care for. Timur was able to work more often, but the family would remain poor. In 1867, Vera gave birth to Lev Rusakov. She was upset that she had no had a girl, and thus neglected the second son. Timur would have to quite work and watch over Lev, for Vera wanted nothing to do with the boy and they could not afford a nanny. Things didn't get any better, for in 1868, Yuri Rusakov was born. Vera was so upset that she attempted to drown the child. Timur was horrified, but could not send her to the Asylum, he did not have it in him and there was no one to watch the children.
To his relief, 1869 was the year that Alina was born. The first girl of the Rusakov family meant that Vera stopped directing her anger at Lev and Yuri. She would never harm her precious Savin, for he was her first born. Timur returned to full time work and Vera stabilized once more. The money flowed, but with so many children, Timur was struggling. The family would have to move to the city into a ratty apartment.
Vera did not take the change well. Timur was beginning to believe that nothing could satisfy his wife. In 1870 she gave birth to twins Inna and Talya that nearly killed her. Vera spent a year in the hospital with the girls and Timur had to spend his days playing mommy, daddy, and caregiver while his wife and baby girls were in the hospital. Alina was still a baby at the time, but she could vaguely remember mama returning home from the hospital, two more babies in tow. Two little girls who had taken all of that time away from Alina and the other children. It was not until Alina got older that she questioned all of it. If her mother had wanted a girl, surely Alina would have been enough. She was barely a few months old and her mother was already seeking another child, she got more than she bargained for when the two twin baby girls all but ruined her body.
In 1873, against Timur's wishes, Vera gave birth to twins Toma and Mishka Rusakov. Timur was officially penniless and would have to request money from his father-in-law, Vladimir Pavov to move to London so that he could put the children through school at Hogwarts. Knowing that Timur had stuck by his daughter's side, he agreed to pay for the cost of moving and most of the schooling, including tuition, books, and supplies. He left wands and robes and pets to Timur. None of the children would receive pets, but Timur purchased their wands and robes.
Moving to London was strange for Alina, mother did not cope very well with the change. She never coped very well with change and because of that Daddy could not cope and change happened all the more often. She could see it all happening all the time. She was a perceptive child, always watching what was going on around her. She could see the way that mother treated her older brother Lev and Yuri. She did not think that it was nice, or right, but she did not know what she could do to stop it. Alina took a small amount of vindictive pleasure over being mother’s best girl. She liked that mother liked her better than Inna and Talya. They had each other and it made Alina sorely jealous. She was never deliberately unkind to her siblings, she just recognised from a young age- because of the way that mother treated her- that she was in some way better than her younger sisters.
Alina was young the first time mother was taken away. She knew that she had done bad things, very bad things. However, the eldest girl did not want to believe her mother to be a bad woman. She may have treated her other children badly but Alina could remember the hours that mother had spent brushing her hair and singing old, Russian lullaby’s to her. It was not until she almost killed them all in a fire that Alina knew the truth. Their mother was mad. She did not want to accept it, but in her heart she knew. When mother tried to kill Yuri, Alina’s closest born sibling; that was when she closed off.
She loved Yuri. She loved all of her siblings but she felt a special kind of kinship with the little boy who must also have felt abandoned when she was born. When mother had been especially harsh on him Alina would try to sneak him some of the special sweets that she would occasionally receive for being her mother’s special girl. The darkness in her mother frightened Alina, it frightened her enough to make her skin prickle with gooseflesh. She would try to protect her siblings where she could, a word to mother here, a distraction there. However, sometimes she could be mean. She would tell tales on the twins, or on Lev if he had pulled her hair. She would let mother be angry. But Alina did not want to be like that. Sometimes she could feel her temper bubbling away inside her, it was dark and cold like the feeling in the pit of her stomach when she feared that she was like her mother.
Hogwarts was a welcome escape. Of course half of her siblings were already attending but the year free of the Twins was a relief. By the time they arrived at Hogwarts Alina already had her own friends and did not feel that she needed to associate with them. She would still speak to her older brothers, and when the Baby Twins came to Hogwarts Alina would occasionally make a fuss of them because they were the babies, but for the most part she was acting.
There was a deep fear that bubbled beneath Alina’s bravado. Late at night, after she stripped back the powder and paint that she put on her skin and took out the curls and ribbons. When she no longer had her friends and gossip to hide behind or her siblings to tease. Especially on the days when someone had said something out of turn, that was when she could feel it. The anger in the pit of her stomach. She knew that it could make her do terrible things. Thankfully the fear managed to mask it. She would not be like her mother. She could not be like her mother.
