SKINTONE: Pale white skin with a smattering of freckles across her face, she gets lots of freckles in the summer if it has been sunny

DISTINGUISHING MARKS: Wren has a scar on her right forearm from where she burned herself on the big bread ovens in the family bakery when she was eight.
OVERALL PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Wren had her growth spurt when she turned eleven and hasn’t grown any taller than her five foot two inches since. Her face is small and almost elven, in a middle earth sense rather than the house-elf sort with small but pointy ears. Her petite face is framed by long, messy depending on the day, dark hair and matching dark eyes. Even when Wren gives her biggest smiles her mouth remains quite small and delicate. She finds that she smirks more often than she genuinely smiles, smirking with friends about mischief, or smirking at the funny goings on inside her head. Recently having been hit by puberty Wren was delighted to find the beginnings of a womanly figure appearing with a small bust growing in, though she has not yet started to grow hips.
NON-MAGICAL SKILLS: Wren has some skill when it comes to baking, she loves to bake elaborate cakes, and simple bread, however she doesn’t get as much chance to bake as she would like since she and her father left the family bakery. Wren is also a fair singer, though she only sings for her own joy, not for any gain.
MAGICAL SKILLS: Wren is a great flyer, having played with brooms since she was big enough to toddle and having started flying a real broom as soon as her father agreed to let her try.
BEST/WORST CLASSES: Wren is a brilliant at her flying classes and has a real aptitude for charms. She enjoys potions because of how similar it is to baking, however her potions do not always turn out as good as her cakes. She struggles a lot at transfiguration and had no patience for history of magic, in the arrogance of youth she does not care to look into the past.
WEAKNESSES: Wren has inherited her father’s youthful arrogance. She can be very cocky and sure of herself. She can be very stubborn, if she believes that she is right she will not back down. Even if proven wrong she would be reluctant to admit it. Having grown up without a mother Wren is not overly sure about how to interact with other women, especially not women who are older than her. She tends to prefer the company of boys.
STRENGTHS: Wren has a quick wit and a strong sense of self. She believes what she believes and it would be hard to make her change her mind. Likewise to those who she is loyal Wren will rarely stray.
QUIRKS & HABITS: When she’s happy and/or baking Wren hums, she doesn’t have any specific song that she will hum, just anything that might be in her head at the time. Sometimes, especially when she’s baking, she will hum or sing narrating what it is that she’s doing.
OVERALL PERSONALITY DESCRIPTION: Overall Wren is a happy girl, a little over confident and self-assured in a way that is considered to be unbecoming for a young lady. She has few friends, but the friends that she does have she treasures. With her friends she does not feel the need to reign in her arrogance or her trust that she is equal to any man – something which her father taught her well. However, when she is not full of smiles and confidence Wren can be stroppy and stubborn, particularly with her father, but also with her friends if she firmly believes that she is right.

CHARACTER HISTORY: Cathryn Amelia Blair came into the world as a consequence of the actions of two irresponsible teenagers on a dark night in late October. Her parents married out of obligation for her life, but they were not in love. Still, they made a go of it, they lived with her grandparents in the room above the bakery. There was little to no privacy, and her mother did not get on well with Wrens Grandmother. It was stressful and hot, and their marriage was shaky at best. Still, they cared for each other as best as they could at the young age of seventeen. Julian was enamored with her, the tiny little accident that had derailed his life. Cathryn senior seemed to brighten with the arrival of her child, but when the newness wore off, so did her happiness.
Julian tried to fix things by taking care of his baby, whom he had begun to call Wren because her cooing sounded much like those of the birds outside. By the time baby Wren was a year and a half her father had saved enough of their portion of the bakery money to buy a small cottage overlooking a lake. He thought it would make his wife smile again, especially when they believed she was with child again, but it was not to be. His dear Cathryn, who he had come to care for dearly and almost love, had walked herself into the lake and drowned, killing herself and their unborn child. Julian was devastated and his poor baby girl took so long to stop asking for her mother. It was a dark time, and he blames himself for not figuring out why his wife was depressed.
Over the next few years both of Wrens grandparents passed away, leaving the bakery to her father. They lived in the bakery, keeping the business afloat and food in their bellies. Wren would wake up every morning to the smell of freshly baked bread. She was always desperate to help out with the baking from a young age - despite the danger of the hot oven. The hot bread oven was how Wren ended up with a nasty red blister scar on her right forearm from where she tried to ‘help’ make the morning bread without her father’s supervision.
When Wren was nine years old her father decided that the bakery was not enough for him. He was not truly happy. Instead he decided that he wanted to fly again, like he had before Wren was born. However, rather than going back to his life as a Quiddich player, Julian decided to teach flying and applied to Hogwarts. When Wren was ten years old they packed up their things and moved to Hogwarts – a year earlier for Wren than planned. Wren lived with her father in the teacher’s quarters, but it was lonely for the ten year old, so Julian bought her a little ball of fluff for her Christmas that Wren named Esmeralda.
When Wren started Hogwarts she struggled to interact with the girls her own age. Or the girls who were older than her. Or girls at all. She had not had any interaction with women in her short life, only really her father and the friends of his that he introduced her to. Still, Wren made the best of it and had a few friends of her own by the time her first year came to an end. She loves to fly, but her father claims that – despite going into her third year at Hogwarts – she’s too young to be on her House’s Quidditch team. This year, though, Wren has other plans.
