Soleil Carrow
NAME: Soleil Isabinda Carrow
AGE: 20/83
SOCIAL CLASS: Upper-Class
RELATIONSHIP STATUS: Widowed
OCCUPATION: Author (Uses many different pen names)/Governess
PLAY-BY: Adelaide Kane
BLOOD STATUS: Pureblood
EYES: Light brown
HAIR: Dark brown
SKINTONE: Light tone
HEIGHT & WEIGHT: 5'4 & 110 lbs
DISTINGUISHING MARKS:
OVERALL PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Celebrated and cosseted from an early age as the tender village beauty, Soleil grew up with a bright teasing glimmer in her eyes which lights up her entire face. Soleil is tall enough, though she has shrunk in height over the years due to her aging, and slender. Her face is oval-shaped with a light skin tone. She has full lips and a graceful look about her whenever she moves. It has been said that it looks as if she is gliding on air.
NON-MAGICAL SKILLS: Writing, as is apparent with her book sales across several countries. She likes to think she has a penchant for learning languages, but seems like a complete ditz when she tries to speak any language other than English. Writing in another language is something she can do though.
MAGICAL SKILLS: Like her sisters, Soleil is very skilled in Potions, but didn't enjoy the class as much at school as Selene, for she found the constraints of book learning too dull, wishing she could create her own potions rather than make the ones in a book. She is very good with plants, and thus ends up being the sister that manages the gardens the Carrow sisters have. Herbology is her domain.
WEAKNESSES: Soleil’s most obvious flaws—her flightiness, her fickleness, her falseness—are often observed first by rational people, and then later, upon closer acquaintance, excused. True feeling and loyalty is slow to take root within her heart, and easy to tear out. She is cowardly, afraid of betrayal and pain and inconvenience, and knows, in her secret heart, that she will likely fail to live up to these grand ideas of loyalty, the only exception being her sisters. Vanity is something she suffers from. She can't imagine seeing herself old and only wishes to gaze upon her young, delicate features. She also considers herself the most beautiful of her sisters, having been told so by her mother. Soleil cannot stand to be rejected by males, even more so those she wishes to truly enchant, which can lead to a long-standing grudge. For all the defenses she has built up over the years, she still cannot shake her tendency to be gullible towards deception.
STRENGTHS: There's a brightness that clings to her and lifts the spirit. The light and sparkling quality of her wit and the general sweetness of her nature has carried Soleil a long way through life. She loves to laugh, and to have others laugh with her. She finds it easy to discover new friends, many of them, in whatever circumstance she finds herself. Vibrant and free-spirited, she has never felt as if she was constrained by society. Due to her flightiness, Soleil tends to be unpredictable, a regular firecracker of a human being.
QUIRKS & HABITS: She enjoys playing with people, taunting them with words and enchanting men with spells. Quite playful and flirty, Soleil enjoys all sorts of games and has the habit of sitting straighter in her chair when she finds an interesting male to entice. When angry, one can tell if they know her well, for she will always pucker her lips and narrow her eyes.
OVERALL PERSONALITY DESCRIPTION: As a child, Soleil was a happy-go-lucky individual with a smile that others couldn't help but reciprocate. She was caring and empathetic with the people around her including strangers. She never found it hard to say hello or have a conversation with a complete stranger. Even though she looks as though she could pass as a wallflower, she's never been one to meld into the background even if she wanted to. Her vibrant personality and infectious smile make it hard not to notice her even if she doesn’t want to be noticed. Yet there was always this underlying sense of competitiveness with her older sister Selene. Mother had always said she was the most beautiful of her daughters, yet Selene insisted upon seeing herself as the most beautiful. Soleil always felt inclined to prove her wrong and went out of her way to do so, whether by having a boy Selene liked fawn over her or attempting to find a spell to determine which one of the two was more beautiful.
While she can make herself as charming and pleasant as she wants, Soleil likes to tease and have a bit of “fun”—her particular genius is to make that fun seem innocent or childlike, and she loves best to tease the objects of her affection. She makes certain that all the world understands that, leaving little hints and dropping sly, somewhat cruel comments that might belie true feeling. She invites one to imagine that behind the weightless conversation and merriment, there might be camaraderie. She suggests that there might be growing a true and serious passion. It is all a very delightful game to her. Sometimes it is akin to a hunt, as if she is in search of a man to ensnare, trap, and then leave behind. Soleil doesn't believe in heartbreak, but she does believe that one's impression can forever be left on another and with each of the men she encounters, she wants her impression to be left behind.
Yet after the Carrow sisters began to use dark magic to keep their youthful appearances, something changed in Soleil. She became erratic, spiteful and vindictive. Though she helped commit the crime herself, she grieves deeply over the death of her mother. Again and again, she has sought out love, though it isn't entirely clear if she even knows what that feeling is. And because of the heartbreak she has endured, Soleil has this emotional wall where she at times comes across as being cruel, aggressive, brutal and mean. Despite her aggressive and brutal nature, she is also emotionally fragile. After living the life that she has, she very much longs for a life of normalcy. She feels as if her life was stolen from her, as she was just a girl when it all began - a selfish girl who loved her sisters more than anyone. Though she bears a grudge against her sisters for the life she feels they whisked her into, over the decades she has become more dependent upon the two.
Recently, she has begun to have moments in which she reverts back to a younger version of herself, acting as if her parents and brother are still living. It is surely due to her advanced age, despite her physical appearance and the effect of the dark magic being used to keep that physical appearance. Each episode is one she cannot recall, though her sisters, if around, can. Clearly, something is not right.

CHARACTER HISTORY: It was a warm spring day in late April. The year was 1801; a happy year for the British Empire with the joining of Ireland to her lands and victory against the French in Egypt. None of these muggle matters were particularly concerning to the pureblood Carrow family, especially in April. No, they were far too busy celebrating the birth of their last child, though they did not know she would be their last at the time. Family members visited to give their well wishes and view the newborn as her mother held her and many a gift was sent to both baby and mother. Wysteria was most pleased with her third daughter, finding the baby to be the cutest of all the children she'd delivered. When guests would comment on the baby's beauty, her smile would grow brighter and the feeling of accomplishment that she had created something so near perfection in her eyes increased.
Because her mother looked at Soleil differently from her siblings, the woman often kept them away from the cot the little baby was inside. She refused to allow strangers to hold her, claiming that they would harm her, even if they were longtime friends or family members. In Wysteria's mind, they were all jealous of the baby and she had to protect her little girl from those monstrous people that would destroy her. As Soleil grew, her mother became worse in the way she treated her youngest daughter compared to her elder two. Soleil received the finest made clothes, was gifted with odds and ends when it was not her birthday, and was constantly referred to as "my most beautiful daughter" by her mother around both of her sisters.
*Like the rest of her siblings, she was scared of her father when seeing his behavior around others, but enjoyed the material items his job provided for her
*Never cared for her daughter Irene. Was forced to leave Elijah behind. Still in contact with Lidiya and Georgi.
*Loved Lazar and Frederik the most, though Frederik more than Lazar, even though Frederik had repeatedly caused her harm intentionally.
