CHARACTER HISTORY: Nadya was born on January 3rd, 1862 in Bucharest, to a very poor single mother. They barely had a house to live in and her mother was a prostitute. Nadya doesn't even remember her original surname. She was very small when she began to spend time with a group of travelers and her mother wasn't able to keep track of her for days on end. At six, she ran away from home to travel with the nomadic gypsies she had come to call family. She took on the surname of Gray, which is what they went by once they settled for a time in England. She was happy with them until one man forced her into his family as his servant. He told others she was his daughter, but she knew that it wasn't true. Still, she couldn't get out from under his thumb. He hit her, demeaned her and other unspeakable things. When she was twelve, she had already developed beyond other girls her age, and he took advantage of her. So she killed him in his sleep and ran away. Her hands were covered in blood from where she had stabbed him and she was shaking, but she wouldn't cry. That man did not deserve her tears. This was where Giancarlo found her and took her in. She wouldn't speak to him for weeks, but he never harmed her and he fed her. That was the first time she had felt real love. He nicknamed her "Stella" because she is his little star, and she won't allow anyone else to call her by the pet name.
She had been a dancer her entire life, and she had the freedom to pursue her movement and acrobatics now that she was no longer living with the gypsies. There were multiple acts of accidental magic throughout her childhood, but she was never taught to control it. She has random flashes of the future, or mainly floating pictures that come through daydreaming. She is unaware of the Sight that she has in her family tree.
She has an open relationship with her fellow acrobat, a man she calls her husband, when it suits her. She will not take his name or make anything official with him. She refuses to be owned by anyone again, but she does love him. She uses sex as a means to an end and they will often con others this way. She has been known to charm women as well as men, but her husband is the only one she is able to feel anything with emotionally.
