NON-MAGICAL SKILLS: Shawn's best skill, magical or otherwise, is his ear for music. He can play a variety of instruments: the banjo, guitar, piano, and harmonica. He learned himself and created his own music. He plays just about anywhere he can and practices whenever he has a free moment. Besides that, he's a big people person.

CHARACTER HISTORY: Serghei Lupei grew up in an upper class family with high expectations on him and his siblings. He knew his responsibilities from an early age and despite being prepared for them, he was scared out of his mind. He was betrothed to a Charlotte Friederike since he was ten and knew one day they would marry and have children. About a year before he was to marry Charlotte, he got a little reckless. He went out to muggle London and found a tavern. There was a barmaid there who was more beautiful than any witch he'd ever seen. After hours of talking to this woman, he convinced her to spend the night with him. They saw each other a few times after that, always in secret. He never told her what he was, for fear of her reaction and the fantasy would be over.
It was two months after they first met that she came to him and told him she was pregnant. He didn't know what to do. His family was planning an extravagant wedding for the youngest son and he was about to have a baby with a muggle, someone his family looked down on. His family hated having to live in hiding from the muggles and hated being afraid. He couldn't imagine their reactions if they found out he was having a child with one of them.
Lillian was heartbroken when Serghei told her they could not be married and didn't understand why. He promised to stay in her life and help her as best he could. He was there the day Shawn, his first son, was born and held him with tears in his eyes. His relationship with the two Greyson's, however, dwindled over the years. By the time Shawn was four, Serghei almost never came by. He was busy with his second son, Christopher, with his wife. He would pop in occasionally but Shawn didn't even know who he was and by that point, Lillian wanted to keep it that way.
When Shawn was nine and showing signs of being a wizard, Serghei came by and explained everything to his old lover. She was distraught but relieved. Surely witchcraft wasn't quite the terrible curse everyone spoke of. Serghei didn't see to be full of dark magic after all. She was so relieved she let him stay for a while. Nine months later she popped out a baby girl, Vanessa.
Shawn can't remember his father as he left his life completely after that night. He feels nothing but anger at his father who left them to survive on their own while he lived it up with his rich family and spoiled kids. He never knew his name and later thanked his mother for that. He couldn't imagine how he would have been able to attend the same school watching his half siblings parade around.
He was sorted into Hufflepuff in school and tried to enjoy it as best as he could. He loved magic and loved to experiment with new spells. His favorite part of it all was Quidditch. He played from his fourth year up and was an amazing keeper. He'd always loved music, however, and spent most of his days teaching himself new instruments and music to go with them. He learned to play the banjo, guitar, piano, and harmonica. He wasn't sure what to do with himself once he left Hogwarts so he took the first job he could find: a barkeep at the Leaky Cauldron. He'd worked at his mother's tavern during the holidays so it was easy to pick up on the tasks.
