He's an intimidating man, tall and broad shouldered, if underfed. His eyes are piercing, calculating, smart and bright, he's strong despite his age, he's clean and well dressed, though tends to dress simply. He has a kind smile though to see it is unsettling because he's often got a very nasty expression on his face.
NON-MAGICAL SKILLS: He can read and write very well. He can ride horses and braid hair. He's also a talented poet.
MAGICAL SKILLS: He's very good at the dark arts, and his wandwork is exceptional, he does well with potions and herbology, transfigurations and charms.
WEAKNESSES: Hidden deep within himself Max still lives, a sweet child raised by a loving family and he longs to live that life, not this. He's impatient, and perhaps keeps secrets too fiercely. He's still loyal to his father to a tee, be the perfect Lestrange Heir, even though he is far more respected than his father ever was.

CHARACTER HISTORY: Born in a muggle London hospital in 1833 to a call girl named Bernadette De Witte, Markius was first given the name Maximilian De Witte.
Bernadette went to Aueberon and told him the child was his, but the man would have none of it, claiming to not need some bastard becasue his wife would give him a legitimate heir.
Auberon's wife was sterile, and on Markius's eleventh birthday his Hogwarts letter was delivered by his father and he left his mother for good.
Being barely capable of living with the shame of adopting a poor bastard son off the street, Aueberon first told his son he must be worth it. Mark didn't take his father seriously, being taken from his real mother and loving family at the brothel where he was raised to the empty and cold Lestrange manor house Markius requested his peers and teachers call him Max.
Even though he never gave the reason for the nickname, his father wasn't impresses, When he got home for Christmas he was beaten for his insolence and locked away. Aueberon's wife took pity on the boy, the woman, while resentful that this child was proof her husband hadn't been loyal, loved children and was heartbroken not to have one of her own, and she cared for him.
After that Markius was flawlessly obedient, he turned out to be powerful, intellegent, and cunning. Having been sorted into Slytherin he was everything Aueberon could have asked for in a son, and so the old man grew paranoid.
Aueberon Lestrange was exceptionally proficient in the mind arts, and used this to spy on the thoughts of his son and heir. What he found is that Markius was still Max De Witte the whore's little boy.
Markius had indeed used his considerable intelligence to beguile his father and his father's entourage. He was sleeping with a dirt poor muggleborn girl, whom he'd fallen in love with, he was still in contact with his real mother and he was planning to trick his father into signing over the Lestrange estates and assets then kicking him out of his own house.
Aueberon couldn't have this, and he believed the only way to ensure the true loyalty of his son would be to beat it into him.
Not only was Markius physicaly abused, but his father dug through his mind and dragged up ever memory, every secret, and used them to humiliate his son. He was still only partially successful in securing his son's loylaty. Markius set his own agenda to learn and master the magic of the mind, and he did, to such an extent that he far surprassed his father and was allowed to have his secrets again, but he kept nothing from his father, including the plan to murder him.
Markius beat his father to death, with his mother's blessing, and took hold of the Lestrange's estate, the good news in this is that Markius did get his father's approval, before the very end.
He married the woman his father had arranged for him to marry and they had five children. He was disconnected from his family, He did not love his wife, he was afraid he'd treat his children no better than his own father treated him, after everything that happened he was a changed man. Instead, he devoted his life to teaching the arts of Occlumency and Legilimency to wizards who had secrets to protect, because Markius would never tell a secret.
