OVERALL PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Lydie is a small girl, but looks her age. She has a natural wave in her long hair just like her little sister, but the color is much closer to her father's. She is generally very clean and well put together, but because of her adventurous nature, it doesn't take long for her to mess her hair or dress. She has a natural blush that heightens when she is scared or in trouble. She smiles often. She has a heart-shaped face, and gentle hands with long fingers.



NON-MAGICAL SKILLS: She has her mother's pension for sewing and needle-work, and she is also learning the piano and violin (though whether it's a skill is debatable). She is very skilled at sneaking and pretending sleep when she wants to eavesdrop. She doesn't read often, but she loves to play-act.

WEAKNESSES: She has a hot temper when she doesn't get her way, or feels ignored. She can be quite bossy with Charlotte. She is somewhat spoiled, and doesn't understand that the world doesn't revolve around her. And she is opinionated to a fault.

STRENGTHS: She is protective of her younger sister (when she isn't getting on her nerves), she cares for creatures of all sorts. She loves her parents dearly. She is very curious and optimistic about life in general. 

QUIRKS & HABITS: She likes to sneak away to find adventures and to play pretend very often, even though she has been told she is getting too old for make-believe.

OVERALL PERSONALITY DESCRIPTION: Lydia has a sweet, but controlling nature, as she is the eldest child. She believes that Charlotte is a nuisance, but she needs to be told what to do, or she won't know any better. She thinks that her parents are perfect, especially her father. She is very curious about things that she doesn't know much about, and will go at any length to find out more information. It isn't in an intellectual way, more of a gossiping/busy-body sort of way. She is very opinionated, and when she believes in something, she will stand by it no matter what. She loves getting presents from her father, and has learned that it is quite easy to get what she wants, though she could never steal anything or lie about anything, because she would be caught or found out. It is very hard for her to keep her kitten Thomas a secret, because of that tell-tale blush of hers.

CHARACTER HISTORY: Lydia is the first of two daughters born to William and Rachel James. She was born in March, when there was still a chill in the air, but she was a healthy and happy baby. She has always been close to both parents, and was too young to care when her sister came along, so she was never jealous of her when Lottie was a baby.

Lydia is a schemer in the best sense of the word (usually). She is always concocting stories, plays, adventures, plans, and they generally have to do with wandering, or exploring, or making secrets and treasure maps. But she is very particular about getting her own way, or her plans finished, that it angers her when things don't happen according to plan. When she was seven years old, she threw a tantrum in the middle of church, and that was when her accidental magic first made itself known. She was not happy about being made to sit and be quiet, so the pew somehow opened up underneath her, and she fell to the floor so she could crawl away. No one noticed but her family, but she took advantage of the situation and crawled through the legs of parishioners to get away from the building.

She doesn't have much of a history, mainly because she is currently living it. She doesn't care about love or any of that yet, only making stories and adventures, and dragging her little sister along for the ride.
