Dear Sasha,
I apologise for the tear stained parchment, I probably rewrote this letter a dozen times in the hopes that one would come out tear free and I would appear strong and happy, though it was in vain. I am unhappy Sasha, there is no way around it, I am considering going to the headmasters office this weekend to tell him I no longer wish to attend this school, that I am dropping out . I know I said I wanted to be a tutor at the orphanage, but I miss you too much and... I'm sure the Headmaster will understand...I just hope the Matron will, she was so excited for me and helped me with the application process...I just don't want to disappoint her...
I hope you didn't take over my side of the room just yet,
Audrey Blake

August 30th, 1883 Dear Audrey,
It would be a lie if I said I did not miss you too. I would love to tell you to return home immediately, but that would not make you happy. You are only unhappy right now because you've never been so far away on your own. If I were there, you'd be telling me every day how much you enjoyed learning. You'd say you couldn't wait to finish your studies and come back to teach the orphans. That's what I imagine each day when I sit in our room and see your empty bed. Do not give up, sister. This is what you want. I know you are scared of being alone and I am too. Still, I must ask you to stay. More so than the Matron, if you return without completing your studies, I will be disappointed. You can do this, Audrey. I believe in you.
Life is continuing as always here, if you were wondering. I've come up with a new design of dress I think would look lovely on you. It'll take a few months to finish, but I'm hoping it'll be perfection for when you return. Our birthday is approaching. Can you believe we'll be twenty-one? Girls of twenty-one, or will they call us old maids now? Surely not. We aren't that old. Regarding your side of the room, I might have taken up a bit of space. But it was absolutely needed for work purposes and not just to store odds and ends. You'll have it back when you return. I think I'm getting used to having a room just to myself though, so you might not have it back.
I hope you haven't fallen in the Loch Ness yet,
Sasha Blake
